Google Ads asks whether a campaign has EU political ads

Google refuses some changes to a campaign until it has an answer to the EU political ads question. Answer it once in Google Ads.

The message
This operation is only allowed after you confirm if this campaign has European Union political ads.
Comes from
Google. The answer is a campaign setting in Google Ads, and Adplane passes Google's message on as it is.

What it means

Under the EU's rules on political advertising, Google asks advertisers to say, campaign by campaign, whether a campaign has EU political ads. Until a campaign has an answer, Google refuses some changes to it, such as its locations.

Adplane answers no for every campaign it creates, since Google does not allow EU political ads. The message comes from campaigns made before Google added the question.

How to fix it

  1. Open the campaign in Google Ads

Sign in at ads.google.com and open the campaign your assistant named.

  2. Answer the question

In the campaign's settings, find the EU political ads question and answer it. Google does not allow EU political ads, so for most campaigns the answer is no.

  3. Ask again

Go back to your chat and ask your assistant to make the change again.

Adplane does not answer for a campaign it did not create. That answer is a statement about your ads, so it stays your call.

FAQ

Why doesn't Adplane answer it for my existing campaigns?

It is a statement about your ads that Google asks the advertiser to make, so Adplane leaves the answer to you.

Do campaigns that Adplane creates need it?

No. Google requires the answer when a campaign is created, and Adplane declares every campaign it creates as not containing EU political ads, which Google does not allow anyway.
